With recent advances in wireless technology as far as moblilbity, connectivity, speed are concerned, in some work areas it is fast becoming a more viable networking solution. In comparrison to fixed copper cabling there is no need for cumbersome, space consuming cabinets which in themselves need regular time, care and attention.
Also the new 54Mb Buffalo wireless access points come with small built in switches and router functionalities should there be a requirement for these devices, Again saving on space and more expensive active equipment.
OAKLAND DATA can provide secure wireless network solutions to connect "the other building" or remote portakabins that before would require expensive trenching and/or vulnerable overhead cables and fibre optics.
